The first big daddy ever created, with reduced durability compared to other Big Daddy types is balanced by their increased speed, better combat flexibility, greater damage output, and tactical intelligence. They also appear in greater numbers than other Big Daddies, often attacking in pairs Alpha Series does come with a variety of firearms, including Shotguns, Machine Guns, or Launchers (by wiki)

The Rumbler has a greater firepower than the Alpha Series. The Alpha Series may have better tactical intelligence but that doesn't matter when facing the Rumbler's onslaught of heat-seeking rockets. Moreover, the Rumbler can deploy a Mini Turrent that will fire rockets and bullets, giving it an edge as an automated weapon system. The Alpha's firearms cannot match the power of the Rumbler's attacks. In terms of strength, the Rumbler also has the advantage as its left arm punch deals good damage and knockback. The Rumbler also has a neutral stance with its yellow lights that won't attack unless provoked, giving it an opportunity to survey the situation while maintaining a defensive position. The Rumbler's overall power of 55 and guard of 20 gives it more durability and sustained damage output, making it the wild tough guy winner of this battle.
