The battle between Escargon and Vortex took place in the midst of the Cybertronian war. The two mechanical beasts stood facing each other, ready to start the fight to the death. "Hey, Vortex! I don't know what you think you're doing here, but you're not going to make it out alive," Escargon said with a Brooklyn accent. "You're messing with the wrong guy." "Ha! Don't flatter yourself, Escargon. You're no match for me and my power," Vortex replied with an evil smirk. The two Transformers took a stance and charged towards each other. Escargon started by using his spear, which contained a taser chip, to strike Vortex and send an electric shock through his mechanical system. However, Vortex was quick to retaliate with his powerful blaster, shooting at Escargon and taking chunks of metal from his armor. "You're going to have to do better than that, Escargon," mocked Vortex. Escargon, not one to give up easily, transformed into his military rank jet mode and started to fly around Vortex, trying to find an opening. Vortex responded by transforming into his rocket launching excavator mode and shooting homing missiles towards Escargon. But Escargon was quick to dodge the missiles and charged towards Vortex with his wrecking bulldozer form, all while lasers were firing from his bulldozer arms. The energy from the lasers lit up the dark battlefield as they struck Vortex, causing him to screech in agony. "Is that all you got, tough guy?" taunted Vortex. But Escargon didn't let up. He shifted back into his transformer mode and charged at Vortex once more, pierce him with his spear. Vortex tried to avoid the attack, but the spear cut through his wings, blaster, and then, ultimately, his chest. Vortex fell to the ground, struggling to survive his wounds. "You may have beaten me, Escargon, but you'll never win the war," Vortex said, his voice weak and barely audible. "I don't care about winning the war, Vortex. I just wanted to make sure one less Decepticon exists on Cybertron," Escargon replied, before finishing off Vortex with a final strike to his head. Escargon stood over the fallen Decepticon, his spear still dripping with Vortex's Cybertronian blood. The battlefield was quiet as the other Transformers looked on, in shock at the end of the intense battle.
