On one side of the field stood Team Blue comprised of players from the recently formed Blue Lock factions. The other side was Team Karasu & Otoya, a unique blend of agility and strategy. With a nod from Karasu, the match kicked off with a sharp pass to Otoya. "Let's show them our skills!" Karasu shouted, as he swiftly weaved through the opposing defenders. "Don’t get too cocky, Karasu," Isagi muttered, already analyzing the situation, the entire field etched in his mind. He maneuvered into position, glancing at the opposing defense. "If only they knew I could smell the goal." Karasu executed his dribble skill, slipping through the defenders, but he felt a pressing challenge coming from Taro. “Loser! You can’t stop me!” Karasu sneered as he positioned the ball. Otoya darted into an open space, his eyes locked onto the ball. With a precise pass from Karasu, he received it and instantly shot towards the goal but was blocked by ambitious defender Lira. “Kaito! Cover the left!” Isagi yelled, his voice cutting through the cheers of the crowd. Kaito, rigid defense in place, moved to fill the gap. As the ball was redirected to Fumi, Isagi positioned himself, ready to intercept. “I can see their moves. I need to be a step ahead.” He breathed deeply, entering a focused state. “Karasu! Watch out!” Otoya warned as Kenji closed in, attempting to snatch the ball from him. “I got this!” Karasu called back, gracefully pirouetting on his heel, dodging the attempted steal, and flinging the ball back to Otoya, who was moving into open space. Mid First Half The game continued to ebb and flow. The score remained 0-0, but tension filled the air as both teams sought to break the deadlock. Isagi found himself anxiously lingering near the opponent's penalty area, occasionally glancing at his teammates. “We need to collaborate more; it won’t work if we keep going solo,” he thought, but he knew his egoistical opponents had their own ideas. Across the field, Taro formed a plan. “Okay, guys. We need better coordination. Seki, go wide. Fumi, close down on the defense, and I'll take the shot.” Lira nodded, moving where instructed, while Kenji shouted instructions, reorganizing the midfield. The strategy began to evolve, and the dynamics shifted. Otoya suddenly noticed the alignment of the defenders. “Yoichi! Over here!” he yelled, signaling for a pass. Isagi saw him, but paused. “No, I can get a better shot.” With swift reflexes, he dashed across the field, positioning himself in a spot he identified in his mind. "Now!" He shouted as he received the ball from Otoya. With a determined look, Isagi took the shot, his instincts kicking in. The ball sailed past the outstretched hands of Ao into the net. A roar erupted from his teammates. The scoreboard now read 1-0. Second Half The half-time whistle blew, giving both teams a chance to regroup. As they retreated to their benches, Isagi leaned against the railing, recalling what moments led to the goal. "We need to keep pressing," he murmured to himself, feeling exhilaration mixed with anxiety. Karasu slammed a fist into his palm. “We need another goal! Who else is up for it?” “This isn’t over,” Taro replied, eyes narrowing as he plotted their next move. “If we can strategize better, we can turn this around.” The second half resumed, with Team Blue kicking off. Riku tossed the ball back to Isagi. “Let’s keep the momentum, Isagi. “Agreed. We have to outthink them,” Isagi replied confidently. Karasu, invigorated with the energy of the crowd, pushed forward with determination. But soon, Yukio managed to intercept, passing to Hisoka, who dribbled as he made an incisive run. “Looks like the table might flip if we’re not careful,” Isagi thought, honing in on the play as they defended fiercely. Hisoka took a sharp shot towards the goal, but Ryo, standing in as goalkeeper in this scenario, stopped it with an athletic dive. "No way they're scoring!" he cheered, beaming with confidence. The Final Minutes With only minutes left and the score still 1-0, Team Karasu & Otoya looked increasingly desperate. Kenji yelled to his team, "We need to push harder!" "Right! Lira! Back me up!" Taro shouted, intending to find a gap. Karasu dribbled forward again, determined to score. “I’m the ace here! No one can stop me!” He charged past several defenders but was halted by a yellow card foul by Riku when he extended an arm. "Cut it out, loser! I’m the one scoring here!" Riku snapped back, gritting his teeth. “Tch; this isn't over yet!” Karasu grinned, getting back to his feet, and ready to push again. As they resumed, Taro received the pass, taking an aggressive step toward the goal. “Kaito! Watch for the pass!” Isagi yelled, eyes locked onto the duo. With the last moments dwindling down and pressure mounting, Taro shot. The ball launched toward Sora, who was ready, but increased awareness led Isagi to sprint toward the goal. “Let’s finish this!” Isagi shouted. The Whistle As the referee blew the final whistle, signaling the end of the match with a 1-0 victory for Team Blue, the energy shifted. “We did it!” Otoya cheered. “Not bad for a bunch of losers,” Karasu grinned, ignoring the tension. “Good game, but we need a lot more coordination,” Isagi remarked, contemplative, contemplating the changes he would make for the next match. Taro and the rest of Team Karasu & Otoya walked off the field, disappointment hanging heavy. They had put up a staunch fight, but the results left them with much to contemplate. They could feel the reality of being "Locked Off" hovering over them like a storm cloud. As the teams departed the field, Isagi pondered over his own growing sense of confidence and self-awareness, internally recognizing that the journey within Blue Lock was just beginning, bringing forth both challenges and path for growth.
