They're billions of people in Frieza's army. Each one having different skills than the last. Most noticeable are the Ginyu Force, Zarbon, and Dodoria. As his entire force is attacking he'll sit in his ship off planet. Occasionally he'll fire a small beam at the opponent which will hit him no matter what and will negate armor or blocking. If Frieza gets bored he'll destroy the planet with a supernova.
