DLN 001, "Mega Man" in Europe and North America or "Rockman" in Japan. Often referred to as "The Blue Bomber". This character is the combat version of the robot. The non-combat version is referred to as "Rock" in Japan, and "Mega" in North America and Europe, though "Rock" is more popular because of DLN 002, "Roll". The first successful robot Dr. Light built with a proper conscience. He was built after Dr. Light's earlier creation, Protoman, ran away. Dr. Light initially built him as a lab assistant robot and named him "Rock" to correspond to DLN 002's name of "Roll". However, after Dr. Wily began taking over the world, DLN 001 was converted into a combat robot and renamed "Mega Man" (or "Rockman" if you are Japanese, which a lot of you are). So far, he has stopped Dr. Wily's plans a full 12+ times, and still counting.
